Founded in 2007 by mariners, Diamond Diesel Fuel Polishing was established to solve the growing challenge of fuel contamination in increasingly complex marine and industrial fuel systems. The company pioneered modern fuel polishing solutions and helped define an industry it continues to lead today.
With a strong foundation in marine applications, Diamond Diesel expanded into the commercial and critical power sectors, engineering high-volume fuel polishing trailers capable of sub-one-micron filtration. In 2024, the company was acquired by a longtime client and fellow mariner, preserving its maritime heritage while continuing to protect Florida’s vessels, fleets, and critical infrastructure.

Diamond Diesel's patented filtration equipment will always leave diesel fuel in excellent condition. The diagram to the left gives a visual of three basic stages in the filtering process. The first cylinder shows fuel filled with so much sludge it appears black. Then, in the second cylinder, the fuel has gone through up to sixteen of our patented, 0.005 micron proprietary filters, filtering out the sludge and any other contaminants present. It is done at such a high speed that when the fuel returns back into the tank, it acts similar to a pressure washer, removing any stuck algae or sediment. Once it is returned to the tank, it is picked up again and cycled back through as many times as needed. The cycle is completed when the diesel fuel looks like the last cylinder, a translucent ruby-red color, with no sediment or contaminants present.

No matter how your fuel looks like, most of the time, it can be saved. The diagram to the right shows an example of what a contaminated tank might look like. Diamond Diesel will always start by troubleshooting to determine the nature and extent of your problem. Once the troubleshooting is completed, polishing equipment is brought on-site and any algae, water, sludge, or other contaminants are removed. Once the fuel is clean, to prevent future contamination, biocides and other additives are injected into your tank.
